Western Plains Welcomes New Board Member
September 30, 2021
Western Plains Medical Complex welcomes Ernestor De La Rosa as a new Board member. Mr. De La Rosa replaces Ryan Ausmus, who served as vice-chairman since 2014. Western Plains Medical Complex sincerely thanks Mr. Ausmus for his service, leadership and his dedication to the mission of Western Plains Medical Complex.
“Mr. De La Rosa has represented so many organizations in so many different settings, and has dedicated his career to ensure that our community continues to grow socially and economically. I know he’ll be a wonderful colleague to work with, and an excellent addition to the Board,” said Rick Sowers, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Currently, Mr. De La Rosa serves as the Assistant City Manager of the City of Dodge City. Like many rural leaders, Ernestor wears many hats. As the Assistant City Manager, he oversees the City’s Public Transportation and Human Resources Departments and serves as the City’s Legislative Affairs Director. He also coordinates the efforts of the Southwest Kansas Coalition and facilitates the Complete Count Committee for the Census 2020 efforts in Dodge City and Ford County. Governor Laura Kelly appointed Mr. De La Rosa to serve on the Kansas Hispanic Latino American Affairs Commission and the Kansas Racial Equity and Justice Commission, representing the City of Dodge City. Mr. De La Rosa was born and raised in Mexico, immigrated to the United States at the age of 13, and is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.
Please join us in thanking Mr. Ryan Ausmus for his service to WPMC Board of Trustees and congratulating Mr. Ernestor De La Rosa on his appointment to the Board.
