Chaplain Program

Western Plains Medical Complex recognizes the spiritual needs of our patients. Our chaplain program is designed to integrate with other services provided within the hospital to meet the overall well being of our patients and their families.

Our chaplains understand that health issues can create fear and uncertainty and they are trained to provide support and to listen. Their purpose is to minister to the spiritual needs of our patients and their families regardless of spiritual belief or denomination.  The chaplains also have the chapel/family room available to meet with patients and their families for quiet, private care giving.

On admission, patients are made aware of the Chaplain Program by the registration staff. Each patient has the right to request not to be visited by the chaplain, if they wish. Registration staff will also ask each patient if they would like to have their own personal minister or priest notified regarding their admission.

Our hospital social worker oversees and coordinates the services of the program and acts as a liaison between the chaplains and hospital leadership. If you have questions about our Chaplain Program, please call (620) 225-8423.
