Digital long term monitoring for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy is now available at Western Plains Medical Complex utilizing recently purchased state-of-the-art equipment. Patients are hooked up to the equipment and monitored for up to 72 hours if necessary. The main goal in monitoring is to determine what type of seizure activity is occurring and to determine the extent of the activity, either partial or generalized.

Western Plains Medical Complex is also very pleased and proud to announce the capability of performing Sleep Studies at the hospital, utilizing new state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Having the capability of doing both EEG and Sleep Study procedures here at WPMC allows the patient to receive quicker results and more detailed diagnosis in their care.

Dr. Malaz Almsaddi, Neurologist at the Dodge City Medical Center utilizes this new technology in the diagnosis and treatment of both sleep related disorders and seizure disorders. His ability to interpret the results of these tests allows for administration of the appropriate level of care to each patient.
