WPMC Names Michael Burroughs Interim CEO

Dodge City, Kansas - Western Plains Medical Complex, (WPMC) today announced that Michael R. Burroughs, FACHE, has been named interim CEO while a national search for a permanent CEO is underway.  Burroughs assumes the top leadership role on an interim basis following the resignation of Mike Kosor, according to Tom Weiss, President of the Continental Division of Hospitals® of which WPMC is a part.

"We appreciate the contributions of Mike Kosor to our hospital and wish him the best as he moves on to pursue other opportunities, "said Weiss.  "We are fortunate to have Mike Burroughs serve as our interim CEO at Western Plains as we launch an aggressive national search to find the right person to lead the hospital in the future.  Mike has considerable experience as a hospital CEO and will ensure strong management and leadership during this transition."

Burroughs has more than 20 years of hospital management experience, having served in executive positions for seven hospitals in Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana and California; he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Burroughs is President and Chief Executive Officer of MB Associates International, LLC a healthcare consulting firm based in Arlington, Texas, which provides interim management for acute care hospitals among other services.  Burroughs also serves on the faculty of the University of Texas, Arlington as Adjunct Professor in the graduate program of Health Administration.
